Mr. Tanner is a Partner and head of the firm’s entertainment litigation practice. His practice also includes general liability, business litigation, premises liability, labor & employment, products liability, public entity defense and Covid-19 Labor issues.

Mr. Tanner works with clients to develop innovative strategies for the handling of complex litigation in a cost effective manner. He has significant experience in representing high profile entertainment professionals as well as Fortune 500 companies.

Mr. Tanner has consulted on risk management issues for labor such as independent contractor agreements and has drafted Film & TV Production agreements. He has tried numerous cases to verdict involving catastrophic injury, premises liability, product liability and tort defense.

Mr. Tanner has experience in providing risk analysis for live events. He has represented concert promoters, entertainers, musicians, security, staging companies and event planners for music concerts.

Additionally, Mr. Tanner has experience defending public entities including but not limited to common carriers, buses and railways. He has represented water districts. He has also defended institutions of higher learning, non-profit centers for education for lower income families and care centers for the elderly and disabled.

Mr. Tanner has also represented many clients in the hospitality sector including hotels, restaurants, night clubs and bars in premises liability cases.

Ric is a member of the Los Angeles County Bar Association, the Beverly Hills Bar Association, the Association of Southern California Defense Counsel, the American Bar Association, the Building Industry Association and Film Independent.
