[Confidential Federal Class Action Lawsuit]
Result: Settlement Facts: In this case, we represented a national employment background screening company which faced a class action lawsuit in Federal Court for alleged technical violations of the Fair Credit Reporting Act. The plaintiffs’ initial demand was several times in excess of the client’s insurance policy limits. However, we were able to settle for below the policy limit, in light of pending Supreme Court review of another case which could have proven fatal to the plaintiffs’ case.
