Syed v. M-I, LLC, et al.

Facts: Putative class action lawsuit brought in Federal Court for alleged technical violations of the Fair Credit Reporting Act by a background screening agency and Plaintiff’s former employer.

Result: Plaintiff’s initial demand was several times in excess of the client’s insurance policy limits. We were able to settle at mediation for below the policy, given pending Supreme Court review of a case which could prove fatal to Plaintiff.
