Ameer Wafer is an associate attorney at Nelson Griffin as part of our entertainment litigation practice. Ameer handles premises liability matters in the entertainment context for both productions and live events including sports and music concerts. He previously worked in Business and Legal Affairs for Village Roadshow Entertainment where he drafted and negotiated agreements for television, film, writers, actors, and producers. He also was involved in rights acquisitions for screenplays, life rights and books.
Ameer also handles the defense of government entities, healthcare organizations, transportation and general liability. His legal experience started as an extern at a civil rights and employment law firm. He earned his J.D. from Southwestern Law School with a concentration in Media and Entertainment Law. He is a member of the Black Entertainment and Sports Lawyer Association (BESLA), as well as a Committee member of the Langston Bar Association, Youth Outreach Committee and Young Lawyers Committee. He was a John M. Langston Scholarship recipient. He has completed Front Office Sports Athlete Marketing Essentials & NIL Certification.
